Job Summary

The Service Desk Operator will provide first-level technical support on a rotating 12-hour shift schedule, troubleshooting network and system issues to ensure continuous IT service availability.

Responsibilities

  • Provide first-level technical support by analyzing and resolving user access and connectivity issues to maintain network uptime
  • Log, classify, and escalate incidents after initial fault isolation to appropriate teams for timely resolution
  • Troubleshoot and resolve basic technical problems independently to minimize service disruption
  • Operate and maintain Cisco Switches and Routers with hands-on expertise to support network infrastructure
  • Apply knowledge of LAN/WAN technologies including VPN, Broadband, ISDN, ATM, and Frame-Relay to support network operations
  • Utilize understanding of Wintel and Email Systems to assist in resolving related technical issues
  • Adhere to a two rotating-shift schedule of 12 hours each, including standby availability for emergency coverage

Preferred competencies and qualifications

  • ITE Certificate or Diploma in IT
  • 1 to 3 years of internetworking experience
  • CCNA certification (preferred)

Other Information

  • Work schedule: Two rotating 12-hour shifts with a 2 days on/3 days off and 3 days on/2 days off pattern
  • Standby duty required for emergency activation
