Role: Itron Meter Data Management System SME & Smart Metering Operations Center Lead

Key Responsibilities

• Conceptualize and deploy high-fidelity VEE algorithms tailored to high-resolution water consumption profiles to autonomously identify water leakages, sophisticated tampering, and hydraulic anomalies.

• Maintain absolute alignment of all metering schemas, data persistence protocols, and operational workflows with the statutory requirements of the EMA Electricity Metering Code and national utility mandates.

• Supervise the performance of the Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) and Network Management Systems (NMS) to optimize the Daily Reading Success Rate (SR) through proactive spectral analysis and gateway management.

• Architect, debug, and maintain a proprietary suite of JavaScript, Visual Basic for Applications, automation engines and Java-based middleware to streamline backend business logic, complex data reconciliation, and high-volume transaction processing.

• Formulate and refine rigorous Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for telemetry alert thresholds; manage the lifecycle of localized and systemic field orders, performing deep-dive forensic analysis on technician-submitted field results.

• Execute root-cause analysis (RCA) on device failures and telecommunication outages, coordinating with field team and deploy the teams to ensure rapid grid restoration.

• Leverage automated network intelligence to preemptively detect service-level disruptions at the customer tier, initiating automated proactive notification protocols via mobile and API integrations. Ensure system performance and cross-functional team tasks are completed within defined Service Level Agreements (SLAs).

• Direct cross-functional task forces to ensure all system-wide performance KPIs and enterprise-level Service Level Agreements (SLAs) are exceeded through rigorous load balancing and resource allocation.

• Extrapolate multi-dimensional data sets from the Meter Data Management System to derive actionable intelligence for urban demand forecasting, hydraulic infrastructure stress-testing, and future-state project scaling.

• Synthesize system logs into high-level, comprehensive monthly performance dossiers and executive summaries for regulatory and client stakeholders.

• Demonstrate competency in Work Order Management Systems for managing field assets, ensuring the precise logging of serial number transitions, configuration details, and synchronization during meter and Meter Interface Unit swap-out operations.

• Oversee the seamless integration of Meter Data Management System with SAP IS-U (Device Management & Energy Data Management), ensuring perfect parity between master data, interval profile data, and consumer-facing digital platforms.

Qualifications & Experience

• Advanced degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or Information Technology Systems Engineering.

• 8+ years of demonstrable success in the implementation of Tier-1 Meter Data Management System solutions (Itron, Siemens EnergyIP) and the management of large-scale AMI network architectures.

• 5+ years in the SAP IS-U suite, with specific technical and functional depth in DM, EDM, Billing, and FICA integration points.

• Advanced proficiency in Java, Javascript, and Visual Basic of Applications, with the ability to write production-grade code for system extensions and automated auditing tools.

• Mastery of Operational Technology (OT) communication protocols and an exhaustive understanding of the Singapore utility regulatory landscape and grid security standards.
